Easter Treats, Plants, and Decorations
Chocolate is toxic to cats and dogs. All lilies can be fatal if ingested by cats. Other seasonal plants, such as azaleas, rhododendrons, and daffodils are toxic too.
Pesticides
Lawn care and gardening products can be hazardous. Always store these products in out-of-the-way places and follow label instructions carefully.
Preventatives
Make sure your pet is on year-round heartworm preventive medication, as well as a flea and tick control program.
Allergies
Your pets can be allergic to foods, dust, plants and pollens. Allergic reactions in dogs and cats can cause itching, minor sniffling and sneezing, or life-threatening anaphylactic shock to insect bites and stings.
Identification
Collar ID tags should be worn during outdoor time with all relevant contact information. Make sure your pet is microchipped and the microchip information is up to date.
Spring Cleaning Products, Paints and Secure Window Screens
Cleaning products, paints, mineral spirits and solvents are potential poison threats to pets. Keep these items out of reach and secured at all times. And make sure to install snug and sturdy screens in all of your windows!
